Going. Going. Gone.

I am now a student journalist.

Really, I am. I’ve been off to some events and interviews with a few famous people like Nene Tamayo and Pau Diaz, and Francis Santiago, a sports writer at Manila Bulletin.

And to think that what I’m doing right now is just for a requirement this term. We are asked by Dr. Teresita Galang-Carey; dean of our college, class adviser, and interpretative writing professor; 3 first-hand news articles, that we had a scoop on and at least 1 interview with a news writer from the prominent newspapers in the country.

Easy? NOT!

It is tiring and the toxic commuting makes me want to drop. But what keeps me going is the chills and thrills of meeting new people, listening to different angles in life and just.. LEARNING! Basically, this career really would not make your mind and heart stagnant.

I feel altruistic that I get to meet these guys at my amateur level. Besides, it trains us to face different people in different situations and how to approach them.

And later, I am off to Mendiola to cover the different groups that formed a rally. After all, it is the last State of the Nation adress (SONA) of President Arroyo. What should we expect? Lies? Exaggeration? Or the plain truth?

Let us watch to find out. Filipinos, young and old alike, please take part! Be informed. Be aware. Do not be a victim of ignorance!

PS: I’ll follow up the pictures of my crazy misadventures and interviews with people and my travels to places soon. I’m not forcing you to read the dumb*ss letter below, but if your curiosity haunts you like Moaning Myrtle, feel free.
