Life Lately: November and December
So here’s a summary of my November and December 2015:
Stating the obvious, I love Starbucks’ Toffee Nut latte. I started with the frappucino (when I was in college and I didn’t care about the whipped cream and all the calories) and eventually moved on with latte with no whipped cream. Since it’s a seasonal drink, it’s something I always look forward to every year along with the stickers. However, this year Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf came up with their version of it and I instantly fell in love with it. You guys should try! (I believe it’s still available? If you’re like it sweeter, go for the Ice Blended but if not, then for for the Latte). And so, I’ve been drinking more of that this year than Starbucks’. (I’m so sorry Starbucks but you’re still my first love)
Meanwhile, I still got myself a Starbucks 2016 Planner — only that mine was the Singapore version. I asked a friend to buy me one since she was asking people on Facebook if anyone was interested.
Aside from Skye, November is also my birth month! I turned 30 last November. As always, we had a family dinner somewhere — my treat, of course! This year, we had dinner at Abe, SM Megamall Fashion Hall. I had churros and ice cream afterwards.
A couple of weeks before Christmas, we finally experienced what it’s like to have a staycation! We stayed at Marco Polo Ortigas using my mom’s complimentary overnight stay from her Marco Polo membership and wow….. I think now I know why people do staycations. It’s so refreshing to have a change of environment and so relaxing to just stay in bed the whole day. We also enjoyed their indoor infinity pool but Skye liked their jacuzzi better mainly because of the hot water.
And just before the Christmas holidays ended, we were able to watch Disney on Ice for the first time! My mom got us free tickets and we have no idea we got front row VIP ticketssss. Skye liked it, she didn’t get bored and cranky except for the last part — which was Frozen because she was already sleepy that time. She was so happy to see Mickey and Minnie in person because she loves them so much. Yes, I’m the happiest parent who watched — WHY? Because I’m still a kid (at heart), and will always will be. I know all the songs (maybe except the one from Tangled). I’m so happy I want to watch it again next year!!
Lastly, I’m taking advantage of the weather. It’s the only time I get to wear my jackets and sweaters. I’m also happy to say I am now able to wear my leather jacket from circa 2011. I’m so happy with weight loss progress. Hoping to reach my 2016 weight goal target by summer!
How about you guys? How was your Christmas holidays?
