Goals + Things

Plans + Goals for 2016

Happy New Year everyone!

How was your holidays? Mine was obviously so busy I wasn’t able to blog about it, but hopefully this year, I’d be more active in writing and updating this blog.

I don’t really keep New Year’s resolutions, I find it so unrealistic. However, I do keep plans and goals for the year like my weight goals, bag target, etc. I don’t normally write about them on my previous blogs but this time, I want to write here to always remind me to: 1) write  regularly. 2) keep track whether I have accomplished that plan and/or goal.

So here are my goals for this year:

SAVE MORE (and maybe spend less)

Having a baby, preparing everything for Skye’s 1st birthday, and being your family’s breadwinner obviously made a big deduction on my savings. So this year, I want to seriously get back on my savings not just for my bank account but also for Skye’s. She was just 2 months old when I opened her an account as my first Christmas gift to her because I want her to save as early as that age. Happy to say, there are times when she has more money than me.

I’d also like to cut down on my personal (aka not so important) expenses such as my milktea and coffee expenses because it’s becoming unhealthy of me. My pens, notebooks, and other art materials expenses also needs trimming because believe me, I still have a lot and some are unused until now.

The last time I traveled out of the country was last 2014, weeks before I found out I’m pregnant and locally traveled May last year to near-by Tagaytay because that’s where my dad resides whenever he’s here in Manila. Being pregnant sort of restricts you to a lot of things especially when you have a delicate condition like what happened to me, I was somewhat forced to work at home and eventually rest in bed a few weeks before I gave birth so I missed walking and going to different places a lot. I had an opportunity to go to Hong Kong last October but I failed to get Skye her passport so I missed our department’s field trip abroad.

So this year, I want to travel as often as possible no matter how hard it is to travel with an impatient toddler. Since Skye has her passport already, I want to take her to as many different places as possible and let her take advantage of the free admission tickets to amusement parks, etc.

Honestly, I’d never imagine I’d sustain enough milk to continue breastfeeding Skye until now. Last year, I’ve encountered problems like our fridge malfunctioned and stop working resulting the spoilage of my milk stash. We were able to save some but Skye was too young to consume all the milk and a lot of milk was wasted.

I plan to continue breastfeeding Skye for as long as I can and my goal for this year is to produce enough milk and rebuild my stash of milk.

It’s funny how I still don’t know how to drive at 30, right? And since our dad gave us a car, I must show him I can drive it already when he gets home this year. Hahaha.

WEIGHT GOAL: 120 ~ 125 LBS

I was at my biggest when I was about to give birth, like around 170lbs. I’ve been trying to lose all the weight I’ve gained all year last year and I do not plan to stop this year. My current goal is to return to 120 ~ 125lbs and wear all my old clothes with ease. So far, I think I’m doing ok because just today, I get to wear my leather jacket from circa 2012.

It’s been ages since the last time I crossed out a bag on my dream bag list so this year, I will work so hard to cross out an item from it again. Right now I’m still undecided whether I’d go for a work bag or a small bag… but since I’m still working on my budget and savings, I might go for a bag around PHP30,000 or less (much better if less).

Do you have specific plans and goals for this year too? Would you mind sharing them with me?

Mine was fantastic! I just spent New Years Eve with my husband and dog. I don’t drink and neither does my husband, so we were out of ideas then.

My goal is simply what it is every year. To be a better person than the year before.
    And to lose more weight.

I was shocked with the bag! You buy bags worth that amount?? OMG!

It’s great you’re able to continue breastfeeding for more than a year already! As I remember my mama only breastfed me for just a few weeks because she has very little milk.

As for travelling, I think you can even start within the country muna, That’s much cheaper and less hassle. 🙂

Hahaha, sorry naman but hmm, yes. I know it’s so much splurging but it’s like my guilty pleasure. It’s like hmmm, guys splurging on their games or gadget / gaming toys or moms / older women splurging on jewelries or other girls splurging on super expensive make-ups and clothes or shoes. I would somewhat hate to admit it but, I like splurging on bags but I don’t think I’ll ever want to spend more than 30k Pesos on a bag ok? So may limit pa din naman ako.

Yes, I’m very blessed with my breastfeeding journey! I am able produce enough milk for me to feed her while I’m at work. Yup, I’d love to travel around the nearby places muna din para mapractice din yun patience nya while travelling. hehe medyo mainipin sya sa car e.

I don’t usually write goals too, but I did it for this year. Two thumbs up for saving! That’s one of my goals too, though I don’t really spend a lot, unless it’s for food. haha. I want to learn how to drive too, but not yet recommended kasi I still don’t have my own car, someday hopefully!

    Goodluck with your goals!

Good luck with us on saving! I don’t spend a lot either, I only do it once a year on my birthday as a treat to myself and unless it’s really important and food. Hahaha. You should learn how to drive even if you don’t have a car yet. 🙂

Oh man I gained some crazy baby weight. I hope to get to 130 after I give birth! I am 160 at 6 months and it is sooooo strange!

I know nothing about babies – I might pick your brain about breast feeding. I hope to be able to do it too!!!
